Thursday - Our meal plan starts on Thursday. We cleanse on Wednesday, Tuesday is usually leftovers to clean out the fridge, so Thursday we kick our week off with a meatless meal. This week we are having an old favorite and trying a new soup. My daughter currently has rehearsal on Thursday for a school play so she gets home later than usual so I either need a crockpot meal, a prep ahead meal, or something super fast. This Cauliflower soup takes 30 minutes, including prep. The Romano-Crusted Grilled Cheese sandwich is quick as well and is one of our FAVORITES!! Pretty much every Food Nanny recipe I have made has become a favorite but this sandwich is beyond delicious! Especially if you make it with homemade Kamut bread.

Friday - This is a Skinnytaste recipe we have wanted to try for a while. My husband loves Butternut Squash, Pasta, and Sausage and this recipe comes together very fast. The salad is also a Skinnytaste and is one of our favorite salads. I make this salad all of the time and usually add extra cheese, extra egg, and extra olives. (We are not concerned with the calories.) If you haven't figured it out yet, I only use Kamut flour. You can learn all about it from Food Nanny, but it is seriously superior over every other flour. To round out tonight's dinner, I am making Kamut Italian bread.

Saturday - My husband cooks.

Sunday -  My daughter joins me in the kitchen. We are making another new to us recipe and again Skinnytaste, White Chicken Chili w/Hominy and the Food Nanny's Kamut Cinnamon Rolls. We made Chili last week and made corn bread, so this week we are sticking with a sweet side but doing more of a dessert with dinner.

Monday - This is one of our most favorite meals!! The Frikadeller are habit forming and I could eat this cabbage every day, it is like candy. I make a double batch and freeze half, usually in individual servings so they are easy to defrost and snack on. I have a few mashed potato recipes we like, but our favorite for just a basic plain mash is 100% Food Nanny's Classic Mashed Potatoes.

Tuesday - Leftovers

Wednesday - Cleanse Day

This week's recipes brought to you by:

1. The Food Nanny Rescues Dinner Again!

2. Skinnytaste Fast and Slow

3. Skinnytaste One & Done

4. For the Love of Kamut

Menu Plan for the Week of 12/15/13

Menu Plan for the Week of 12/15/13 Once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the recipes in my weekly  E-Meals Simple Gourmet Menu . I have started serving dinner earlier so my Aunt can eat with us so I also am doubling all of the recipes. Here we go!  Sunday:  Free Night!  Monday:  I got home late from shopping so ended up making a delicious sandwich. I should have taken a picture of it! ;) Haha Tuesday:  French Beef Stew with Mashed Potatoes Notes:  This was tasty but a couple of things. I would add some Kosher or Sea Salt and pepper to the stew itself while it is simmering for the hour and a half. The prep for the recipe says 20 minutes but it was more like an hour. It is 20 minutes not including all the chopping and mincing of everything. I would probably also skip the mashed potatoes and add some small red or yellow potatoes to the stew itself, quartered or halved depending on their size. It is not a thick stew, so if you w...
